Tour Las Vegas' Best Beauty Retailers July 11

After a year off at Cosmoprof North America 2014, Cosmoprof North America will once again offer its popular "Las Vegas' Best Beauty Retailers" tour in a collaboration with Beauty Store Business on the Saturday before this year's show officially starts (July 11).

Past participants have found it a fun way to spend the day, and, as of June 15, space was still available for more people to hop on the CPNA-rented, air-conditioned bus, enjoy the behind-the-scenes tour while eating a box lunch that will be provided, shop for beauty products and learn some new tips on signage, displays, merchandising, impulse buys and product placement—among other things—in a laid-back setting with lots of Q&As.

"Las Vegas is known for its glitz and glamour," said Daniela Ciocan, CPNA marketing director. "Meeting various client demands, the city offers a variety of beauty-retail environments. This tour will provide a unique and insightful look at some of the best with special guest appearances and a knowledgeable guide, BSB’s very own [executive editor] Marc Birenbaum.”

The tour will start at 11 a.m. from the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino—CPNA's headquarters hotel—and return there by 4 p.m.

This year's event is truly multisensory. It will kick off with a fragrance-and-chocolate pairing co-hosted by Sniffapalooza founder and CEO Karen Dubin and COO Karen Adams so participants can experience scent in a new way. The pairing will also feature a select preview of the 10 exhibitors in the new DISCOVER SCENT area, providing a glimpse of these niche fragrances before the show.

Beauty destination LOOK Style Society, beauty boutique Skins 6|2 Cosmetics and The Look Boutique at Walgreens are the three beauty retailers that will be visited.

  • LOOK Style Society (pictured above) is a revolutionary, new concept in the world of beauty destinations. Skins 6|2 Cosmetics tells the story of each product through "retail theater," ensuring a unique collection of aspirational-yet-accessible fragrances, distinctive skin- and haircare products, home-fragrance accessories and beauty treatments.
  • Much has been written and said about The Look Boutique at Walgreens, a wildly successful mass market-beauty concept. It has changed the way that the U.S. beauty industry looks at beauty. The tour will visit one. Each boutique has specially-trained beauty advisers—including a No7 beauty adviser—to help guide customers to the best solutions for their individual beauty needs. Expert shaping and grooming services are available at the Eyebrow Bar. Special guest Marcia Gaynor—The Look Boutique pioneer and DMM of prestige beauty at Walgreens who pioneered Duane Reade's innovative prestige-beauty department—will talk to the tour.
