Sally Beauty is shaking things up with the appointment of Pamela Kohn as its new senior vice president and chief merchandising officer.
Kohn is expected to step into the role in October, when she will be responsible for leading the company’s merchandising team and driving its strategy.
An experienced corporate retail executive, Kohn comes from Dollar Tree, where she served as executive vice president and chief merchandising and marketing officer, having previously held the same role at The Fresh Market.
She graduated from Northwestern University and previously spent 13 years at Walmart, serving in a range of merchandising, sourcing and real estate-related roles.
“Pam is a seasoned, successful merchant who is passionate about the customer and who has a proven track record of delivering results,” said Sally Beauty president and CEO Chris Brickman. “She will help us continue to build our strong assortment of owned and exclusive brands that differentiate both Sally Beauty and Beauty Systems Group. Pam brings so much to the table, and I am excited to have her join our senior leadership team and help drive our transformation.”
Sally Beauty Holdings is currently in the midst of implementing a transformation plan, and reported a 22.2% upswing in earnings, year over year, in its third quarter ended June 30, 2019, as successful cost-cutting measures and store closures counteracted slight declines in sales.
