The first-ever March of Dimes New York Division Spirit of Beauty Luncheon is set to take place May 12 at Cipriani in New York City and become an annual event. As a nonprofit, March of Dimes focuses on supporting pregnancy and baby health.
The Spirit of Beauty Luncheon will honor Sarah Brown, Vogue beauty director; Mally Roncal, Mally Beauty president and founder; and Jacquie Tractenberg, Tractenberg & Co. president.
The March of Dimes Beauty Ball has been a prominent social event in the cosmetic and fashion-publishing industries for 39 years, raising more than $35 million to support the organization. This year, in keeping with industry changes, it is being presented as a networking luncheon.
"With the support of a stellar lineup of business leaders and industry giants, the inaugural Spirit of Beauty Luncheon promises to be the next great chapter in the storied history of an extraordinary event," said Shelly Siegel, executive director of March of Dimes New York Division. "The success and triumph of the Beauty Ball is an inspiration to us, as we move forward with this new and exciting industry event."
The awards will be presented by merchandising director of beauty at QVC Claudia Lucas; haircare and style legend John Frieda; and beauty entrepreneur Gail Federici. The event's sponsors are Conde Nast, Coty, International Flavors & Fragrances, Hearst Magazines, L'Oréal USA and Shiseido Cosmetics.
Funds raised at this year's Spirit of Beauty Luncheon will help March of Dimes continue its work to end prematurity and help give every baby a healthy start in life. For more information and reservations, contact Amy Handler, firstname.lastname@example.org, 212.500.1801.
