JD Beauty and Goody to Merge

JD Beauty, the parent company of WetBrush, Bio Ionic and Ouidad, announced this week that it will merge with Goody Products, an iconic manufacturer of hairstyling tools and accessories.

ACON Investments, the private equity firm that purchased Goody from Newell Brands in August 2018, has signed a definitive agreement to buy a controlling interest in JD Beauty from Topspin Partners, a consumer-focused private equity firm.

JD Beauty Acquires Ouidad

This week, JD Beauty Group announced its acquisition of Ouidad, a curly haircare and styling brand beloved by industry professionals and consumers alike. This makes Ouidad another industry-leading brand to add to JD Beauty's portfolio of haircare and styling tools, which includes WetBrush and Bio Ionic. JD Beauty is based in New York and was founded in 1977.

JD Beauty Expands With Bio Ionic Acquisition

JD Beauty Group, the parent company of WetBrush, has announced its acquisition of Bio Ionic professional electrical beauty appliances. Focused on building a well-rounded product offering of hair brushes, electrical appliances and liquids, the acquisition rounds out JD Beauty’s existing brands. Bio Ionic will continue as a leading, global professional-only brand under JD Beauty.

Jeffrey Davidson Appointed New CEO of JD Beauty/Wet Brush

Effective as of June 1, 2017, the JD Beauty/Wet Brush board of directors recently announced that Jeffrey Davidson will be the company's new chief executive officer. Davidson is well versed in what the role will entail, as he has previously served as a CEO at other reputable companies such as Magic Cinemas, Lindsay Phillips and MB Associates. His resume also boasts a position as a managing partner of Coqui Capital.

JD Beauty Group Announces Partnership with The Kirschner Group, Inc.

JD Beauty Group announced a global partnership with The Kirschner Group, Inc., effective January 1, 2017. The Kirschner Group, Inc. is a worldwide sales and merchandising organization that represents manufacturers in the professional hair, skin and nail industry. While The Kirschner Group has serviced JD Beauty Group internationally in the past, they will expand those services to the United States and transition to a global partnership.
