Estée Lauder Recruits Top Technology Talent With CIO, Michael Smith

The Estée Lauder Companies recently announced that Michael Smith has joined the company as senior vice president, Global Information Services, and chief information officer (CIO). For more than 25 years, Smith has held high-level technology leadership positions, including 22 years with Nike where he had multiple brand and technology roles. He is currently a member of multiple advisory boards, and has joined Estée Lauder from Boma Technologies, a technology consulting company that he founded and served as chief executive officer.

Smith’s goal is to further advance innovation in information technology, applications, and infrastructure to effectively support and enable the company’s growth strategy and the evolving needs of its brand and business. He will focus on driving global technology solutions in key strategic areas for the company, notably retail, digital, social and analytics, while still managing his day to day technical operations.
