Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, which took place at the Bologna Fairgrounds in Bologna, Italy, March 8-11 closed its 2013 show with record-breaking figures: 193,842 visitors for a 14% increase with 48,823 visitors from outside of Italy for a 22% increase.
The number of exhibitors this year—2,390—was also up from 2,320 in 2012.
That figure included about 1,500 (63%) from outside of Italy as well as prominent new country pavilions from India and Colombia.
Topping the list of exhibitor-leading countries after Italy (666) were China (272) and France (161 exhibitors). Other countries with significant numbers of exhibitors included the United States (143), Germany (125) and Spain (113).
And for the second consecutive year there was also a California pavilion via a trade-mission export initiative organized by the Center for International Trade Development in Long Beach, California. It included 28 brands of cosmetics, hair care, nail care, fragrances, skin care and spa products.
“The ‘new’ Cosmoprof is increasingly international and professional with the participation of buyers and delegations from abroad to whom we have offered the highest levels of quality and specialization,” says Duccio Campagnoli, president of BolognaFiere and SoGeCos, the company that organizes Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna and a partner in Cosmoprof North America (July 14-16, Las Vegas) as well as Cosmoprof Asia (Nov. 13-15, Hong Kong). SoGeCos is 100% owned by BolognaFiere.
Next year Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna is April 11-14. Cosmopack—an exhibition alongside Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna—will once again open and close one day earlier than Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna: April 10-13, 2014.
Cosmopack is a "show within the show" for visitors interested in the production process, finding new materials, formulating new textures, designing production equipment, and packaging—including those seeking graphics and designs.
