This ISBN Conference Looks Like the Best One Ever

I’m really looking forward to attending the 2012 International Salon/Spa Business Network Conference with its “Be Inspired” theme on April 15-17 at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

What’s the International Salon/Spa Business Network? It’s comprised of more than 50 top salon and spa companies. Every company owns from two to 12,000 salons and/or spas, and together the member companies generate an astounding annual gross sales of more than $10 billion.

ULTA Beauty is nearing halfway in its 21 Days of Beauty event at its 450 or so locations across 43 U.S. states and at the beauty retailer's website.

The annual event, which began March 11 and lasts through March 31, focuses on fresh-faced, spring looks and corresponding free gifts-with-purchase, beauty tips, complimentary in-store consultations and demonstrations from top beauty-brand experts.

J. White Places Norvell Sunless in ULTA, Folica.com, SalonCentric

Norvell Sunless has been placed in three major nationwide accounts, J. White & Associates, the supplier's national manufacturers rep firm, has announced.

“In the past 60 days, we have launched six retail SKUs in all ULTA Beauty stores, 12 retail SKUs on Folica.com and the full range of professional equipment and refill spray solutions throughout the nationwide SalonCentric system,” says J. White & Associates president Jeff White.

Ulta Welcomes New Board Member

Ulta Beauty has appointed Catherine “Cathy” Halligan, senior vice president of social-commerce platform Powerreviews, to its board of directors.

Halligan is replacing Hervé Defforey, who will resign from the board effective Jan. 28. Defforey resides and works primarily overseas—which he earlier cited as the reasons for his resignation.
