New Online Target Beauty Studio Allows Guests to "Try On" Beauty Products

Target has taken another aggressive move to win over beauty consumers. With more than 1,000 beauty brands, Target has aimed to make online beauty shopping easier giving guests the opportunity to “try on” hundreds of cosmetics and chat via text with Beauty Concierge reps to field questions they may have. The retailer’s new augmented reality beauty experience is called Target Beauty Studio, which is available to use now on Target partnered with Perfect Corp’s YouCam Makeup to make the real-time facial mapping technology available online.

Target Plans for Same-Day Delivery Service With Shipt Acquisition

Target has announced its plan to acquire Shipt, a leading online same-day delivery platform, for $550 million in cash. With this game-changing acquisition, Target now has the ability to leverage its network of stores with Shipt’s proprietary technology platform and community of shoppers to bring same-day delivery service across the country.

Decline in Cyber Attacks; 61-Plus Million Customer Records Still Stolen

There has been a 50% decline in the number of cyber attacks against U.S. retailers since 2012, according to IBM's 2014 Retail Research and Intelligence Report. Nevertheless, the number of records stolen from retailers remains at near-record highs—with more than 61 million records stolen from retailers by cyber attackers in 2014.
