America's Beauty Show Arrives in Chicago, April 28-30!

Later this month, salon professionals will converge on Chicago to attend the annual America's Beauty Show (ABS), at McCormick Place (North) Saturday, Sunday and Monday – April 28, 29, 30. Paul Dykstra, CEO of ABS, comments, "We are proud that the 85,000 beauty professionals who attended our three-day show in 2017 came from across the US and 34 foreign countries – and had a $116 million impact on the local economy. Largest Retailer of Professional Haircare Products in Canada Joins Forces with ONCAP to Help Accelerate Growth

Intrepid Investment Bankers, a leading middle-market investment bank, announced July 17 the acquisition of its client, Chatters Canada—the largest retailer of professional haircare products in Canada and one of the largest hair-salon operators in that country—by ONCAP, the middle-market private-equity platform of Onex Corp., in partnership with the existing management team. The investment is being made by ONCAP III.

Eastern Buying Conference 2016 to Be Held in East Rutherford, New Jersey

The next Eastern Buying Conference will not be—as previously announced—at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, New Jersey, April 2-3, Beauty Store Business has learned.

Instead, it is returning to a site longtime exhibitors and attendees are more familiar with: East Rutherford, New Jersey, where it was held for many years before moving to Atlantic City, New Jersey, and then to Somerset this past April.

PBA Seeks Distributor Participants for Its 2014 Biennial Benchmarking Survey

The Professional Beauty Association is now accepting submissions from PBA-member as well as non-member industry distributors for its upcoming 2014 Biennial Survey.

PBA conducts and publishes this one-of-a-kind Distributor Benchmarking Survey on a semi-annual and biennial basis. Distributors use the information collected to help measure their businesses against other similar ones, and many have found it to be a useful tool in making important business decisions.
