Madison Reed Uses AR Tech to Offer Online "Try On" Feature

Popular at-home hair color brand Madison Reed has put the capability of self-reinvention into the fingertips of their consumers through the launch of the new “Try On” tool found on their website, With the use of smartphones - or any device with a camera - visitors can virtually try on over 40 Madison Reed hair colors to envision color changes upon themselves while eliminating fear of end results. The tool is designed with a split screen allowing users to switch between their current hair color and the new, virtual shades they select.

Americans will prefer to “do it themselves” in 2012—including when it comes to beauty, recently released Chase Card Services research shows.

For example, 59% of those surveyed in the What’s On Your Slate? survey from ChaseSlateSM with Blueprint plan to keep up their appearances using at-home beauty products such as nail polish or self tanners.

In comparison, 22% will make regular salon visits—and only 2% will utilize full-service salon packages.
