Daniela Ciocan Steps Down at CPNA; Liza Rapay Steps Up

BolognaFiere Cosmoprof has announced this week a change in the marketing director position for Cosmoprof North America (CPNA), North America’s biggest B2B beauty event.

Longtime marketing director Daniela Ciocan has officially stepped down to pursue other interests in the beauty world, while Liza Rapay, formerly the North American marketing director for Clinique, has stepped up as CPNA's new marketing director. Additionally, CPNA's office has moved from Las Vegas to New York City, where all North America marketing operations and functions will be reported.

2018 Beauty ID Award Winners Announced by Cosmoprof North America

Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) officially broadcast the winners of the second annual Beauty Innovation & Design Awards (Beauty ID Awards) this week. The ceremony took place on July 30, 2018, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas during the CPNA 2018 exhibition. The still new Beauty ID Awards recognizes excellence in material and product formulation as well as packaging design. Categories included hair, nail, skin and color, personal care, fragrance and sustainability—across all three market segments: mass, professional and prestige.

ICMAD Announces 2018 CITY Awards Winners During Festive Event at Cosmoprof North America

ICMAD announced its Cosmetic Innovator of the Year (CITY) Awards winners on Monday evening, July 30, during Cosmoprof North America at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. At a dinner celebration complete with live entertainment featuring Las Vegas showgirls, ICMAD's president and CEO Pam Busiek presented the awards with ICMAD board member Dr. Robb Akkridge. “Since the inception of ICMAD’s CITY Awards in 1995, we have been recognizing and celebrating the creativity and ingenuity of our industry’s professionals and their breakthrough innovations,” said Busiek.

Cosmoprof North America Introduces Beauty Pitch Angels

Award-winning, business-to-business beauty trade show Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) will be introducing Beauty Pitch Angels this year. A new program created after the debut Beauty Pitch 2015 competition, Beauty Pitch Angels provides a way to bring private equity and venture capitalists together with some of the newest industry innovators. Interested brands must apply online. Pre-selected companies will then be invited to pitch to a live group of angel investors at CPNA 2018 taking place at the Mandalay Bay Convention Centers in Las Vegas, July 29-31st.

BeautyID Awards Submission Deadline Extended!

Thanks to popular demand, the Beauty Innovation & Design (BeautyID) Awards have extended their deadline for entrants to April 16th, 2018. Entries are accepted from designers, suppliers, agencies and brand manufacturers from small and large companies anywhere in the world.

Recognizing innovation in packaging design and material and product formulation, the BeautyID Awards cover all cosmetic categories from hair to nails, skin, color, personal care, fragrance, sustainability and cosmetic contract manufacturing across professional, prestige and mass market segments.
