BSG and Pravana Strike New Distribution Agreement

Pravana salon professional hair color and care products are going to be more widely available to salon professionals starting in early 2019.

Sally Beauty Holdings Inc. announced today that Beauty Systems Group (BSG), the company’s branch that sells beauty products to salon professionals through its CosmoProf and Armstrong McCall stores, has signed a new distribution agreement with Pravana, the global salon professional hair color and care brand owned by the German corporation Henkel AG & Company.

On June 13 at Wanderlust Hollywood in Los Angeles, California, Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) hosted a West Coast product preview event highlighting 11 brands from around the world, titled "Putting Beauty on the Map." The brands, which span four continents, were carefully curated based on their trend-setting attributes and global appeal. An East Coast version of the event was held on June 5th in New York City at the the Library at NeuHouse.

Last year, over 1,250 exhibitors and 30,000 attendees were at Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Eric Horn, trade show director for the Professional Beauty Association, shares his improbable but inevitable ascent in the industry–and what he has in store for 2018.

Eric Horn’s involvement with the Professional Beauty Association (PBA) began so long ago that the organization wasn’t even formed yet. Now, nearly 23 years later, he serves a dual role: associate executive director of business development and North American trade show director for North American beauty events, including Cosmoprof North America (CPNA). Coming from the hospitality industry, where he coordinated conventions, the transition to trade show guru was perhaps natural–but in the beauty business, and the PBA in particular, he found a lifelong home.
