With an audience of nearly 700 gathered at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, CEW’s much-anticipated Year in Review featured beauty executives from Mintel, Nielsen and the NPD Group who discussed the beauty industry’s performance in 2017 and presented a forecast for 2018 and beyond based on major trends. Topping the list of trends that impacted businesses the most were naturalness, personalization, purpose, and digital technology.

On November 9 at the historic Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles, CEW’s West Coast chapter held Beauty’s Color Quake—a panel discussion about the factors that have fueled the recent boom in color cosmetics lead by WWD’s Marcy Medina. The event brought together speakers Rea Ann Silva, the president and owner of Rea.Deeming Beauty Inc.

CEW Presents Spring's Beauty Insider Series on the West Coast

Cosmetic Executive Women held its spring West Coast Beauty Insider Series: "Brand New: Finding Your Niche" event featuring a panel discussion with top beauty executives March 22. The event—open to CEW members and nonmembers—kicked off with a cocktail and networking reception at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica, California, followed by the panel program.

Lucas Joins Behrman Communications as EVP of New Business Development

Strategic public-relations and brand-building firm Behrman Communications has introduced Claudia Lucas as its executive vice president of new business development. Lucas' new role begins Feb. 5.
