StyleCon 2016 Recap!

StyleCon 2016 was a lively event! On Saturday, November 5, thousands of beauty enthusiasts made their way to the Hangar at the OC Fair for the 10 a.m. opening. Paying anywhere from $39 to $300 for entry, pampering and generous swag bags, consumer attendees enjoyed exploring the latest in beauty and fashion—and making purchases at discounted prices. We saw a number of interesting new and emerging beauty brands—including family-owned and operated natural men’s grooming brand, Dapperman, as well as Daily Concepts, which offers innovative bathing products with an eco-friendly slant.

Indie Beauty Expo to Debut in New York City

The Indie Beauty Expo—a new business-to-business and consumer event featuring “independent beauty brands”—will take place Aug. 27 at The Altman Building (135 West 18th St.) in New York City. It’s for brands, retailers, buyers and consumers.

iBE’s co-founders are Jillian Wright of Jillian Wright Clinical Skin Spa in New York City and Jillian Wright Skincare, and Nader Naeymi-Rad, CEO of Vesture, a luxury fashion company.

Beauty Bus Foundation

Beauty Bus Foundation and NOVA recently partnered to sponsor "head-to-wheels" mobility makeovers at the Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park, California.

During the event, Beauty Bus Foundation pampered terminally and critically ill patients with beauty makeovers, while NOVA provided free fixes for canes, walkers and wheelchairs.

The Beauty Bus Foundation sponsors about 21 of these events a year, often at hospitals.

March of Dimes New York Division Kicks Off New Spirit of Beauty Luncheon

The first-ever March of Dimes New York Division Spirit of Beauty Luncheon is set to take place May 12 at Cipriani in New York City and become an annual event. As a nonprofit, March of Dimes focuses on supporting pregnancy and baby health.

The Spirit of Beauty Luncheon will honor Sarah Brown, Vogue beauty director; Mally Roncal, Mally Beauty president and founder; and Jacquie Tractenberg, Tractenberg & Co. president.
