Tengram Capital Partners Acquires Lime Crime

Stacy Panagakis, the former general manager of Fresh, joins as Lime Crime's new CEO.

Founded in 2008 by beauty entrepreneurs Doe Deere and Mark Dumbelton, color cosmetic brand Lime Crime is known for its whimsical, trend-setting, digitally savvy, cruelty-free and vegan products, which have pioneered such beauty trends as unicorn- and holographic-inspired makeup and vivid hair colors. It was recently announced that the company has been acquired by the private equity firm Tengram Capital Partners.

Swander Pace Acquires J.R. Watkins Personal Care & Household

Swander Pace Capital, a private equity firm specializing in consumer products companies, has acquired the J.R. Watkins Personal Care & Household brand and assets from Watkins, Inc. The Minnesota-based J.R. Watkins has been known for its natural personal and household products since its inception as an apothecary 150 years ago. Swander Pace will now separate J.R. Watkins Personal Care & Household and Watkins, Inc., allowing the companies to focus on personal and household products and high-quality spices and extracts respectively.

Target Plans for Same-Day Delivery Service With Shipt Acquisition

Target has announced its plan to acquire Shipt, a leading online same-day delivery platform, for $550 million in cash. With this game-changing acquisition, Target now has the ability to leverage its network of stores with Shipt’s proprietary technology platform and community of shoppers to bring same-day delivery service across the country.

Unilever Acquires Dollar Shave Club

Unilever, a supplier of food, home and personal-care products, is set to purchase men’s grooming brand Dollar Shave Club. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, though Michael Dubin is expected to continue to serve as CEO of DSC.

DSC, headquartered in the Venice area of Los Angeles, California, was founded in 2012. Since inception, it has worked to transform the shaving category through its lifestyle brand, empowering 3.2 million members, and is on track to exceed $200 million in 2016.
