02.22.10 GlobalShop Helps Draw In Customers
Store design and at-retail marketing show GlobalShop 2010 plans to help retailers draw in reluctant shoppers bound by the economy yet steeped in innovation at this year’s event at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, March 10-12.
The annual event is keeping attendees atop current innovations along with consumer and retailing trends through six shows under one roof: The Store Fixturing Show, The Visual Merchandising Show, Store Design & Operations, The Digital Store, At-Retail Marketplace and Retail Marketing Services.
More than 700 exhibitors are expected to showcase more than 10,000 products from the newest P.O.P. displays and store fixtures to digital signage and technology solutions. Attendees will further be engaged by retail notables and GlobalShop conference speakers Wendy Liebmann of WSL/Strategic Retail, Tom Moseman of Envirosell, Joe Feczko of Macy’s, Lee Peterson of WD Partners and Ken Nisch of JGA. Liebmann will reveal new data from her latest How America Shops survey, which attendees will be able to purchase at a special rate. The speakers also offer the following notable trends that retailers should keep in mind:
— Shoppers will remain more cautious, deliberate and value oriented.
— The Internet has empowered shoppers with information. They now desire an emotional experience when they shop.
— Retailers will have to integrate data mining with a synchronization of all retail disciplines to create a compelling environment.
— Connecting emotionally with shoppers requires 360-degree marketing, embracing all touch points from in store to social media.
— Retailers will have to innovate continually, making it more urgent to stay on top of trends and network with colleagues and suppliers.
“The combination of speed to market and innovation is more and more important,” says Wendy Liebmann, founder, CEO & chief shopper of WSL/Strategic Retail, retail strategists and shopping futurists. “Compelling new and discernibly differently will draw people back into stores.”
