In honor of Beauty Week, Groupon set out to find the most pampered cities in America. To determine the winner, the local commerce and daily deals site ranked 150 cities based on how much residents have spent so far this year on pampering Groupon deals, including haircuts and coloring, nails, facials, teeth whitening and tanning.
The internal study evaluated cities in those categories on a purchases per subscriber basis. And the results revealed that the “Most Pampered City in America” is Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Groupon has added in-store coupons to its growing Freebies category, providing national retailers with a programmatic way to reach millions of potential customers with targeted promotions that drive traffic into their businesses. With the addition of in-store coupons, national retailers can now use Groupon’s Freebies category to generate sales across multiple channels—whether it’s in store or online.
No one was certain exactly how business profits—and benefits—would play out in the daily-deals category that launched onto the ecommerce scene a couple of years ago, but it now seems that the benefits are becoming clearer.
New research by customer-experience analytics firm ForeSee shows that daily-deal sites are certainly attracting new customers and inspiring customer loyalty.
