Groupon has added in-store coupons to its growing Freebies category, providing national retailers with a programmatic way to reach millions of potential customers with targeted promotions that drive traffic into their businesses. With the addition of in-store coupons, national retailers can now use Groupon’s Freebies category to generate sales across multiple channels—whether it’s in store or online.

Fragrance Sales See 10% Growth

Direct-to-consumer sales of U.S. prestige fragrance has grown to $285 million, according to the NPD Group, in a report covering the 12 months preceding February 2014.

While a fraction of the $3 billion U.S. prestige-fragrance market, the performance of products sold on department store websites, in key online-only beauty retailers and through TV/home shopping retailers is a bright spot for the industry, which saw 2% declines during the same time period.

Beauty Vloggers to Broadcast From CPNA

Cosmoprof North America 2014—scheduled for July 13-15 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas—will host prominent beauty vloggers, broadcasting live from the show; and feature a Q&A session with the bloggers, which will be moderated by Beauty Store Business executive editor Marc Birenbaum.

The Beaut-E Zone featured vloggers have a combined reach of more than 4 million consumers. Each will be present daily in their dedicated section to meet with exhibitors and attendees.

In Sally Beauty Holdings' succession-planning process, Christian A. Brickman has been appointed the company’s new president and COO, effective June 2. At the request of SBH's board, current chairman, CEO and president Gary Winterhalter will continue his management of the company in his current roles as chairman of the board and CEO through April 30, 2015 (or an earlier date, as determined by the board).
