NRF Addresses Mobile-Payment Regulation

The National Retail Federation has urged the Federal Trade Commission to move cautiously in establishing regulations for mobile payments, and said any rules that are adopted should parallel those for the underlying form of payment and not be specific to the technology.

New PBA Research Initiative for Distributors Launches

The Professional Beauty Association is starting a new research initiative designed specifically for beauty-industry distributors, and is now seeking qualified participants.

"The final report will contain data that can’t be found anywhere else, and the results will be free for participants," says Elizabeth Fantetti, the PBA's membership director. "We are confident that the information will be of great value to those who work in the distribution arena."

Eastern Buying Conference to Debut Next April in Atlantic City

The NEBRA Show will get name and venue changes to go along with previously announced new additions to it next year, the Northeast Beauty Representatives Association said on April 30.

The new Eastern Buying Conference will take place on April 27-28, 2013, at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Patty Paletto—of A Perfect Show and NEBRA’s treasurer—has told Beauty Store Business.

Lucky Magazine Debuts West Coast Conference

Lucky, the magazine about shopping, is debuting its FABB: Fashion and Beauty Bloggers Conference on the West Coast in Los Angeles on April 30. The event is marketed as the first blogger event of its kind, featuring what it calls an elite group of digital fashion, beauty, technology and celebrity leaders along with influential advertisers to the blogger community.

CPNA Launches SPOTLIGHTS Exhibit Space
