Sephora has opened its first store in Brooklyn, New York. The official grand opening—with many events, demos, guest appearances and specials—was Nov. 1 and Nov. 2. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Nov. 1.

The first 100 clients both days received Sephora gift cards with mystery values worth up to $1,000.

The 8,039-square-foot, freestanding store offers more than 13,000 products from 200-plus brands—including Sephora's own collection of makeup, skin care, tools and accessories.

Japonesque—the professional makeup tools manufacturer—has launched its first-ever color cosmetics collection exclusively at ULTA Beauty. It debuted Oct. 27 in 220 ULTA Beauty stores nationwide and on www.ulta.com.

Plans are to expand to 150 more ULTA Beauty stores through 2014 as the beauty retailer continues to open new sites.

L'Oréal Paris has launched the first-ever intelligent vending experience in a New York City subway system. Introduced Nov. 4, the L'Oréal Paris Intelligent Color Experience works as a three-step process: First, it detects the colors in a woman's outfit and picks out complementary color palettes. Next, it recommends L'Oréal Paris products to match the outfit. Lastly, it allows the products to be purchased on the spot.

Lorenzo Delpani is Revlon's new president and CEO. As of Nov. 1, he replaced David Kennedy, who served briefly as interim CEO and who will continue to serve as vice chairman. Delpani is now also a member of Revlon’s board of directors, as well as a member of the board of Revlon’s wholly owned operating subsidiary, Revlon Consumer Products Corp.

Prior to joining Revlon as part of its recent acquisition of The Colomer Group, Delpani served as The Colomer Group’s CEO since May 2007.
